Dr. Achim Kirsch supports users of the PerkinElmer High Content Screening instrumentation and software in Europe.  He received his training in physics from the University of Konstanz, Germany, and in 1998 his PhD for developing and applying near-field optical microscopes to biological applications. The practical work was conducted at the Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen.  Dr. Kirsch joined Evotec in Hamburg, Germany, in 1999 where he started with the development of the Opera High Content Screening instrument and the associated Acapella data analysis system. He was a key member of the R&D process of HCS products at Evotec Technologies / PerkinElmer, through October 2007 when he took on new responsibilities as the Senior European Applications Scientist.
