DxS Ltd, a personalised medicine company and leaders in the provision of companion diagnostics, has announced the appointment of Stephen Murray as Head of Manufacturing.
Stephen Murray will head up DxS’ manufacturing operations at its purpose built plant in Manchester, and will be responsible for all aspects of production and product validation.
Stephen began his career in diagnostics at Axis Shield Diagnostics plc in Dundee where he spent 20 years, most latterly as Validation Manager. He joins from NASDAQ listed Trinity Biotech plc in Dublin, where he was Quality Control Manager for 4 years. Trinity Biotech is a leader in the international diagnostics industry, specialising in the development, manufacture and marketing of clinical diagnostic products. Stephen holds a BSc honours degree in Biochemistry from the University of Stirling.
The appointment is part of DxS’ continued expansion and ongoing recruitment drive in response to an increased demand for companion diagnostics. This year to date has already seen DxS expand its operations into a specialised manufacturing space at its Manchester site, significantly expand staff numbers, as well as signing a global distribution deal with Roche for their TheraScreen® diagnostics kits. Their kit is now used as a companion diagnostic in Europe to verify patient K-RAS status before treatment with Amgen’s colorectal cancer drug Vectibix®.
Dr. Stephen Little, CEO of DxS, said: “Manufacturing and sales at DxS have increased dramatically over the past year, and capacity has to accommodate that increase. With over 20 years of experience in the diagnostics field, Stephen will be an invaluable asset in helping DxS through their next round of growth and expansion. This is a very exciting time for DxS as we continue to mature and develop into one of the leaders in molecular diagnostics and personalised medicine.”
